I've run into this too.  Oddly, by using both the 'Update ' on the left
panel and also 'Internal Virus Update'  it seems to avoid these
discrepancies.  It would appear that the 'Internal Virus Update' doesn't get
updated unless you click on it and select 'update' on the bottom of the
panel
