-=PCTechTalk=- Re: ATI video bios poller client Ati2evxx.exe - Application error

Jan,
This is a problem that has previously hit both Win 2000 and WinXP, but
also crops up for vaious apps running under most Windows OS's. Possible
explanations vary, so we'll have to troubleshoot a bit further before making
a recommendation.

Go to Start, right click on the My Computer listing and select Manage
from the context menu. If that doesn't work or is not present, go into
Control Panel and look under Administrative Tools for Computer Management.
This opens the Computer Management console. Double click on Event Viewer
and then on either the Application or System events. Inside, you'll find
numerous reports on various system and application events. If there is a
problem with a specific event, you'll see a Warning or Error icon beside it.

While this area is not exactly intuitive at first, getting around in it
is easy. Double click on one of the events and you'll get another window
with additional info about that event. You can move up or down through
sequencial events by clicking on the relatively large icons on the upper
right side of the event window. Using the date & time columns in the main
Application or System windows, you should be able to figure out which errors
or warnings were issued immediately following a booting of your system.
Look through those to see if anything repeats the error message you reported
below. If one or more does, please open up that event and copy the contents
of the Description box in the middle of it into a reply so we can better see
the full problem. Hopefully, something in there will better pinpoint the
cause of this situation. :O)

Peace,
GMan
