Larry, That's the exact scenario I considered with my reply. The problem is that DOS could still communicate with XMS/EMS through the memory manager layer. Windows doesn't have anything like that and wouldn't be able to access the advanced memory space in order to use it to hold an often read/written swapfile. The only other option would be one of those ridiculously expensive add-on card RAM drives, but that's WAY beyond overkill for the process you have in mind.
