"AT LEAST" are two harsh words. :o) To answer your question, assuming I understand what you are asking, if = you only put 3GB of RAM in your system, the BIOS and system hardware will = not reserve as much as it would should you put 4GB. The first two gigs will = go to your applications and OS, the remaining will start passed on to the hardware. I'm trying to find a smoother article on the topic, though have been unsuccessful so far. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ SirTroth ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ ICQ: 1717439 ~ YAHOO: SirTroth ~ SKYPE: SirTroth ~ XFIRE: SirTroth ~ AIM/AOL: SirTrothX ~ http://ut2004.sirtroth.com ~ MSN: SirTroth@xxxxxxxxxxx (For MSN Chat) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ =A0 -----Original Message----- From: pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Don101 Sent: Tuesday, May 06, 2008 8:24 AM To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: -=3DPCTechTalk=3D- Re: A few more memory questions plz Will the hardware reserve at least a minimal amount of memory even when = an=20 excess amount is not present?
