-=PCTechTalk=- Re: 2 panes

Judith,
One of the benefits of this is.... not only having an old friend around that
you like..but, if you click the X at the top of the column to the right of
where it says Folders...it will bring up the XP Default which shows

System Tasks
Other Places
Details

So, you have the best of both worlds.

If you click on that X, it gets rid of the File Tree, but it does not change
the default. So, the next time you open Windows Explorer (My Computer) you
will have the file tree there!
Thanks for putting the step by step directions there. I know plenty of die
hards who will feel better about this...lol!

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- 2 panes

Having 2 panes is great! Reminds me of 3.1 and the beauty of
the file manager that was in it. I missed the convenience of
it. Now I have it back with the two panes.

If you too want to experience it, all you need to do is:

In XP, click on:

Tools,
Folder Options
Click on File Types Tab
Highlight Folder
Click Advanced
Highlight explore
Click set default
Click OK
Click OK again

I even got rid of all the shortcuts on my desktop because I
don't need them anymore. I simply click on My Documents Folder
and everything I need is there in tree format with the plus
signs by them. Sure makes for a more organized and prettier
desktop (smile).
