When I am on the road traveling I can use Outlook Express to send and receive
mail on the Yahoo Mail POP and SMTP servers with no problem. I can do the same
with Gmail. I assume it is also possible to POP and SMTP on any other server I
might have an account on. Why can I *not* do that with my primary email
account which is on RoadRunner servers in Central Florida (BrightHouse
Networks)?
RoadRunner says it is because I am not in my "home service area".
BrightHouse blamed it on Micro$oft, specifically blaming it on a bug in Outlook
Express problem. As much as I don't like M$ and want to blame them for
everything, I don't believe this at all.
I have managed to use OE to send and receive email at a Public Library in
Bakerville, NC (which does *not* use roadRunner) on a few lucky occasions.
So can anybody tell me what the real deal is here?
Don
