-=PCTechTalk=- O/S on a CD??

A few weeks ago I was reading an article on different o/s's and I came
across one which basically runs off a CD. It struck me as being a really
good idea for 'emergencies' so you could at least rescue your files in the
event of a major crash. I've a feeling it was a Linux o/s, but I wouldn't
swear to it, and I've lost the magazine it was in now, so has anyone else
heard of anything like this?
