Hi All,
Here is an odd one for you. I use a linksys VPN router which networks =
all
but one (PC 2) of my PCs. However 2 of my PCs are on the far end of the
house and I only have one wire to connect both to the network. What I =
had
been doing but for some unknown reason stopped working is:
PC 1 uses the only wire to the VPN router, then I added a second NIC to =
PC 1
and connected it to PC 2 using a 4 port router. The cables from the =
second
NIC from PC 1 and the cable from PC 2 connect to another linksys router
(both on the local side). All of this worked fine... until now. Now when =
I
connect the second NIC cable the first NIC looses the ability to connect =
to
anything.=20
PC 1 NIC 1: Gateway 192.168.2.1 IP: 192.168.2.250
PC 1 NIC 2: Gateway 192.168.2.2 IP: 192.168.2.251
PC 2 NIC 1: Gateway 192.168.2.2 IP: 192.168.2.252
VPN Router IP: 192.168.2.1
Second Router IP: 192.168.2.2
If I use a cross over cable can I directly connect PC 1 and PC 2, maybe =
even
use ICS (if so how)? How can I tell the second NIC it is only for local
traffic not internet?
Thanks,
Luke
P.S. If I connect both to the second router I can't see the rest of my
network.
P.P.S. I don't care if PC 2 has net access but PC 1 must have net =
access.
