-=PCTechTalk=- Need help to remote connect to a Win 2000 computer from my XP

I used to help a friend, we used Tight VNC and it was a breeze. My other
friend though, she lives in another city and recently bought a PC with
Windows 2000 on it from a pawn shop. And she knows very, very little but she
said she was getting error messages and her computer was a lot slower. I
emailed her a link to online virus scan but she got that error, she said
your system is low on virtual memory so she thought she needed to buy more
but I told her no, increase the paging file size. So I'm talking to her on
the phone, with no luck. She did get to System Properties/ Virtual but she
said there was no Change listed, but there was a C. She tried clicking on
the C but nothing so I tell her I'll log into her computer. She is going to
get her IP and if I use XP's remote desktop, do I just put her IP in and
connect or what steps are needed with Remote Desktop from my XP to her Win
2000?? I've never used Remote desktop and she doesn't know how to install
Tight VNC if I emailed it to her. Sorry to get long winded, would like to
help her but even if I get in, I'm not familar with Win 2000 but should be
easy and I'm sure she has no firewall to go through. I think she saw her
virtual memory was 289mb but unsure. What should I set her virtual memory
too? If I can remote log in I'll follow the steps below. thanks for any
help!
The steps:

Windows 2000
1.. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2.. In the System Properties dialog box, click Advanced
  3.. Click Performance Options.
4.. In the Virtual memory pane, click Change to increase the paging file.

Windows 2000 requires an Initial value of 126 MB for debugging.
5.. After you change the setting, click Set, and then click OK.
6.. In the System Control Panel Applet dialog box, click OK to the
following message:
The changes you have made require you to restart your computer before they
can take effect.
