-=PCTechTalk=- NOD32 and Microsoft Secuity Essentials question.......

The last two times NOD was in a yellow/orangish color with an error so I
open NOD and it said my system wasn't updated. Sure enough I check Windows
Update and there are critical files waiting..I have XP set to notify me
when
new updates but not download, now I do not get the Updates notices..running
version 4.0.314.0...my guess when going from version 3X to 4X in NOD 32
caused this as I have received update notice's in the past...? This has
 happened twice..

Does Microsoft Security Essentials need to be running in the system tray or
can it run effective in the background like Spybot?

 TIA
 Rudy
