Well G. It looks the the mother board is shot.
I moved the m/b with the 866 CPU from th tower with the bad switches to the
other tower. After checking and double checking and then triple checking all
the connection I tried to fire it up.
All 3 fans started running as soon as I hit the switch. The lights for the
cd, floppy and h/d all came on , I guess checking for something there, then
went out after a second or 2, maybe a little more.
However no power led came on. I checked it again to make sure it was plugged
on to the right pins and tried again. Same results, fans and leds.
It was worth a try. Don't think I missed anything.
I'll most likely put the old M/B iback in and put it back together. Post on my
local freecycle. It's old and slow, something like me, but maybe someone can
still use it.
