-=PCTechTalk=- Manhatten Mobile Disk

I purchased an External Enclosure for a hard drive with the idea of being
able to access the hard drive and copy off the genealogy data files.

Ok, it arrived, and there were no instructions or disk/CD. I decided that
was intentional, to make moving the external hard dive from PC to PC as
simple as possible.

Nonetheless, it looked simple enough- only two cables inside connect to the
hard drive itself, and externally, one cable (with an adaptor) plugs into
power, the other cable is a USB cable which I plugged into my computer.

The external hard drive's power light comes on, so it is getting power.
Turned on my computer and the acts like it does not see it. The "Found new
hardware" window never pops up on the computer.

The external hard drive case is from Manhattan USB 2.0 Hard Drive Enclosure
For 2.5 IDE, and the hard drive itself is a Maxtor 160G hard drive.
Manhattan described this as:
Windows 98/2000/ME/XP and Mac compatible
Works with ANY USB computer
USB cable and power adapter included

I just wonder if there was supposed to be a CD included? Anyone know? If
not, can anyone offer suggestions on how to get to going please?

Thank you.

Robert
