-=PCTechTalk=- HELP please:)

I am very sorry to worry you but have exhausted all other avenues of
help.
I recently purchased a computer with an Asus Tusi-M sicket 3
motherboard, SiS 630ET AGP Chipset. I have an Intel P3 1gig CPU and
256mg SDRAM. Operating system windows 98, 20gig HD.

My problem is with the sound and playing MP3 format. I have tried the
onboard mp3 player, media player 7 and even Xing Mp3 player (seperately
of course!) and the problem occurs with all of them. It plays exactly
six mp3's out of the library and then although the program continues to
run there is no sound at all. What I need to know is if this is a
software problem or a problem with the onboard sound. If it is the board
I am sunk, as within weeks of purchasing this system from MPC in South
Africa they were taken over by Sahara who refuses to honour any
guarantee (guess who won't do business with them!).

Please could you advise me as not a single expert I have turned to here
has any idea what could be causing this. It does NOT occur when playing
a CD, only mp3's.

Many thanks.

Regards,
Misty
