Help! I have lost the Filmstrip option under View.
But now it is found.
Folder Tasks must be enabled in order to have the filmstrip view. Certainly
not an annoyance, but it begs the question why.
I discovered this by trying to find it through the Menu bar View rather than
the taskbar view Icon.
An option there is Customize this folder. There you will find an option to set
a folder type as a template. If you select Photo Album instead of Pictures you
lose the filmstrip view. When you change it to Pictures, you will be prompted
to enable the Folder Tasks pane in order to use that template.
I got lucky! I hope this helps others out there.
