-=PCTechTalk=- Due to the vaunted reliability of Windows....

Dear Friends:
 

Due to the vaunted stability of Windows, for the last month, every time that
I have rebooted or had to reboot (due to system lockups, for example) I have
been involuntarily "restored" to the state of my computer (including emails)
on November 2, 2008.  This means, among other things, that I have lost
copies of any emails that I have sent or received from you since that date.
I mention this for two reasons:  (1) if I owe you a response to any emails
that you sent me, I apologize that I cannot respond to them as things now
stand and (2) if you have copies of any emails when you have sent to me (or
received from me), I would ask that you forward them to me so that I can
backup my Outlook PST file and backup from that point.  I sincerely
apologize for any inconvenience that this might cause any of you and I offer
this email also as a "cautionary tale" in order to encourage you to back up
your email messages so that you do not suffer my unfortunate fate.

P.S.:  I contacted Bellsouth's tech support in the Philippines and they
stated that they were unable to recover the emails that I had received over
the last month.   Sigh.
