-=PCTechTalk=- Dell, or Compaq?

Hello all,
     I've been doing some research to decide what my next computer will be. I 
have several questions, but for today, is there some way I can find out what 
components are propriatized by these two dealers?
     I trying to compare high failure rated parts vs. computer down time due 
to shipping to and from. If a part fails, and I can just buy the new part and 
replace it (same day), instead of waiting to get the propriatized part shipped 
to me.
