Hello all,
A while back, I posted to the group about my computer freezing up from
time to time, either from the keyboard or mouse. The only way out was to power
down.
GMan suggested the driver/s for the keyboard and/or the mouse might be
corrupted, and I should download and install new drivers.
I've looked into it and this is what I know so far; It appears there is
only one driver for both items - Ver 1.0.2.6 Aug 17, 2006
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&
product=3303830&lang=en
My device manager provides the following info regarding the installed
drivers;
Keyboard - Ver 1.0.2.6 Jan 13, 2006
Mouse - Ver 5.1.2600.0 Jul 1, 2001
I tried to download and install from HP, and it said I already have the
latest driver installed. I understand that for the keyboard, but not the
mouse.
So, to continue this troubleshooting thought, the mouse driver MAY be
corrupted, but I don't know for sure. Does anyone know of a way I can get the
old driver for the mouse, or an updated version?
Second question. When I do power down, how long should I wait until I
power up again?
Thanks,
HB
