You raise an interesting point. I have used portions of Visual Basic for
years to automatically calculate portions of me shop spreadsheets. It is
written as "functions" which do things like:
Working out which category each item will be listed under in the shop;
Choosing which image to display for each one;
Creating custom links for each entry in case visitors use the credit
card portal;
Adding comments in context about some items...
It's all part of the way my online shop is automated. Without them I
would have to make over a thousand alterations a day every time a new
price list comes in. Can you appreciate the importance of the role it
plays better now?
