[pchelpers] win xp and powerpoint viewer

I sent someone to Microsofts site to download a powerpoint97 free
viewer as I had some bookmarks she wanted to print out and couldn't open
them.
She has win xp.

She said:
When I click on the viewer it says this will install ppviewer97 would
you like to continue. Click yes, says setup is searching for installed
componets, then welcome this lets you make changes. Then says remove all
or exit setup. I have the icon for it in my documents & it shows under
the place where you can add or change programs. When I down loaded I did
not know if I was to pick save or run. I picked save and then when it
was on my computer I ran it. Under the compatability it shows for
windows 95,98, one with a service pack 5,and 2000. Mine is windows xp
2002 edition. I guess I'm not compatable. If you know any thing else I
can try I will appreciate it.

And for a different bookmark she wrote this:
I've down loaded the ppviewer 97. Still can't open this one. Get the
same error about the viewer 97 conversion.

Did I have her download the wrong thing? What now?

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
