[pchelpers] usb-serial controller d

I keep getting a message saying that "new hardware has been found" and in the 
device manager, there are question marks over USB device and usb-serial 
controller d..........I've loaded the main board driver disc, but it says that 
the usb drivers are loaded??
any suggestions please.
