We've had discussions about your out-of-date Calendar extension several
times already. The old version doesn't work in newer Thunderbird
versions, but the new versions do. They changed the file format and even
the program, but the new programs Sunbird and Lightning at
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/ are essentially newer versions
of the old extension you were using, so it's easy to import the old
data. All you have to do is install the new version and click on Import
in some menu, probably the first one, probably called File. No need to
manually rewrite any data, which is apparently what you meant with "copy
all the stuff I wanted to save".

The old Calendar extension has been discontinued and therefore no longer
works in current versions of either Thunderbird or Firefox. The new
versions of the Calendar extension are called Sunbird and Lightning.
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/faq.html has more info.

Your calendar details are not gone; they're still in your Firefox
profile, but since the new version of Firefox disables incompatible
extensions to prevent them from making Firefox malfunction, you can't
see your Calendar data. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder
explains where your Thunderbird and Firefox profiles are located.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
