A few years ago i looked around for open source and other alternatives,
and i sent a summary of my research last year in January. I'll forward
it after sending this. The best one was 7-Zip, but i still haven't had
time to try it out.

I have used 7-zip in the past, and I liked it, because it's easy to use. I
also used zip-Central. However, most of all I like WinRar, even though it has
the nag screen that reminds me to register. I like to use it because you can
rar and un-rar, and also zip and un-zip with it. Also, you can make a file self
extracting, which is great if you send information to a person that may not
have the knowledge how to unzip something.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
