Yes I had to reinstall Windows again and reinstalled SP2. The ubscan.sys is
taking over 30 minutes and is still going on. Anyone hear of this file and is
it a large one?
DSL was not properly installed the last time. This time I connected my modem
and modular plug to the PC and it was a smoother operation and Verizon error
messages no longer appear. Verizon told me that the CD Rom that came with the
modem was just to get service but was no longer needed.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
