Well, I used add/remove and got rid of the service pack. I'm testing to see if
the email is working again now.
Now I need to know something else.
Although I removed the update, there is now in my task bar area <over by the
clock> a small icon that is letting me know that it's ready to install updates.
I'm assuming that is the service pack. How do I remove that from there?

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
