[pchelpers] Re: super duper strange

Have you scanned the attachments to see if there's anything odd about
them? Save the attachments to a dedicated folder, and have your virus
scanner check that folder.

You might ask him to double-check that his virus definition files are up
to date (less than a week old).

I would have suggested that it's possible for a third party to have sent
them, except you say that you're getting them in reply to your own
messages, so it would appear that the problem is on his end or his ISP's
end. It's unlikely to be a problem on your end or your ISP's end, since
you apparently have the problem only with him.

Might also ask him if others have contacted him about strange
attachments.

Another possibility; check that your heuristics settings (if you have
such) are set on high, and have him do the same; that might help catch a
new virus/worm/whatever that the antivirus folks don't know about yet.
I know it's quite possible, since I once ran into such a situation
during my computer store days; we were getting infected files, which we
could detect only by their side-effects, and NONE of the antivirus
programs detected anything wrong. It was a whole week before new
definitions came out that recognized the virus.
