[pchelpers] strange problem

My wife is having a problem with her computer.
Anyone knows about Webshots? Its a program
that changes the background picture of your desktop.
Anyway about every morning for a week now we have
found about 30-40 error messages about webshot
having a runtime error and about 30-40 instances
of webshot running in the task manager. Webshot
has used up all the memory and the computer is locked
up tighter than a drum. The only thing to do is hit
the reset button. Then when it restarts scandisks
want to do a surface scan ( which takes 24 hours )
We always cancel it and then we have no network connection.
I can tell cause ZoneAlarm has a big red X through it.
Have to restart 3-5 times before the network connection
is back.

1. Is there any other program that replaces webshots.
2. How do I stop scandisk from wanting to do a surface scan
    at start up.
3. Why do I have to restart 3-5 times to get the network connection
    back up. Could the card itself be going bad?

Oh yeah She is running ME
