[pchelpers] sound card

(just got home)
Regarding the sound card at my inlaws.... I never did get a reply as to whether
or not it was hard to install a sound card so I was quite skeptical.

He had taken it back to where he bought it <I'm thinking that was Best Buy but
not sure> and was told they put a new card in under warranty for him. That was
in August right after we left there.

Well, when we opened the cover, we couldn't find a sound card as I wrote last
week.

Long story short, in like less than 30 minutes we slapped in a sound card for
$30 from Walmart and now he is a happy camper. The speakers also had to be
replaced.

As a test I pushed into the headphone jack some walkman speakers jack and they
worked great <meaning we had sound>... so I knew the card was set up correctly.

Then he went out and bought some computer speakers and sure enough, it sounded
great.

So, all's well that ends well.

(Well, except for the fact that our flight last night to Atlanta to Memphis
from Myrtle Beach was CANCELLED and we had to fly out this morning at 4:20 a.m.)

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
