You're talking about email and embedded images, whereas John and Lou are
talking about pages, in other words webpages.
What email programs are your friends using? They simply have to adjust
their settings to make sure that the entire email and not only its text
portion is forwarded automatically. The problem is probably that the
first sender doesn't have the setting "Display Attachments Inline" or
its equivalent turned on.
