Hidden files are normally present in most systems. They are hidden by 
setting the 'hidden' attribute on the file. Most often these are system  
files or things you don't want people messing around with. One example 
would be IOSIS which is a critical boot file. Without it your system 
won't work. The only hidden files you are likely to want to remove are 
those you created and hid yourself.
