I think all you would have to do is boot the machine off a floppy and at 
the A: prompt type in:

sys a: c: (That's sys space a colon space c colon)

The system boot files should be copied to the new HD and it should be 
bootable. I've done it before. That's why I've always wondered why a 
person would need special programs to copy one drive to another to have 
a backup.
