     I have Windows 2000 Professional as far as stability goes you can't
beat it even businesses are not switching to Window XP Windows 2000 is
build on NT technology I have had now for over 6 months-- I had sent an
URL earlier regarding Windows 2000 and Windows XP as far as stability,
speed, and ability Windows 2000 won hands down. Windows XP is built on
Windows 2000 technology  Like Tonia said there are way too many bugs in
Windows XP right now, as far as Windows Me I am also running Windows Me,
you need to continually run the Windows Update. It's very pernickety,
too many ongoing glitches The reason I am running dual windows because
of some older graphics programs otherwise it would be gone Zippo!!! Soon
it will be gone.<G> My choice is Windows 2000 it's more on the ball than
any other windows right now. It's the best there is. If this is for your
father-in-law let the computer store install it. <G> Suggest Windows
2000 and make sure he receives all the CDS that goes with what ever he
buys. =20

I would pick Win2000 if your first choice was Win98.
They are very similar in many ways. The quick launch
toolbar is back...taken away in NT, and many other
utilities are in the same familiar places as in
Win98SE. So if your Dad is used to Win98, then Win2000
is the way to go. As for WinXP, it's still very new
and there will be a million bugs to be ironed out.
=A7;^)
Tests have shown it to be slower than Win2000 too.
Don't even consider WinME. 99% of the people I know
will reformat and install Win98SE or Win2000 if WinME
came preinstalled. It's a matter of weeks when they
will feel dissatisfied with it.
