You may need to reinstall the printer software. You will need to un-install
the existing driver and any other printer drivers that are still on your
computer.
What O/S are you using? That may effect all this.
Also check the printer set-up and set it to the lowest resolution and try
again. On my Canon, it does take a long time if I have it set to a high
resolution.
