Hi,
I bought a new box (not formatted, no screen, keyboard etc.) on Saturday on our
way to Auckland. Reputable firm in Hamilton. Unfortunately, no time to test
it on the spot.
Back home today, switched on machine. Booted ok. Put in bootable CD I had
made but said wasn't a bootable CD (could be I didn't burn it right). PC
switched itself off and wont switch back on. Any idea's? (Auckland
anniversary day today, so shops shut in Hamilton and cant get a reply there.)
I also picked up an old machine while in Hamilton. It did the same, booted up,
opened Win98SE, did virus scan and scan disk ok. No problems. Switched off
by me. Tried to power up second time - nothing.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
