I'm putting in my new motherboard and ran into a problem.
On my board the USB pin outs are:
1 power
2 power
3 usbdx-
4 usbdy-
5 usbdx+
6 usbdy+
7 GND
8 GND
9 no pin
10 NC
My cable from the front panel USB ports are labeled:
data +1
data -1
vcc
GND
So which cable do I plug into which pin?
I'm having a new problem with getting my system back up and running.
Normally all I have to do when installing a new motherboard is to run
an XP repair install so that the current XP can pick up the new drivers.
But it didn't work this time. After the reboot I hit a BSOD with the
message "driver_not_ equal to_IRQ" Something like that.
It would be a simple matter of just wiping the drive and starting over,
except for the fact that it has around 90 gigs of mp3s and downloads and
e-mails that
I do not want to lose.
I was running around trying to gather up enough spare hard-drives so
that I can move the files over. But decide to order a new drive to install
XP on. Then I can take the old XP drive and move my data to a safe place.
It still won't be here until Tues or Wed. I will have to do without
my main computer until then.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
