"Show... in color" means that removing the check mark here will only 
remove the blue color, not the compression.

There is no such thing as a dumb question, especially when you're hungry 
and have more important things to do than read an explanation about how 
to make blue file names black without undoing the compression :-)

Hope the above cleared up the fact that removing the check mark will not 
undo the compression and that you only have to remove the check mark to 
get rid of your blues :-)

But we should maybe try to figure out why your computer slowed down even 
if subsequent compression helped a lot or a bit. Using up lots of disk 
space should not normally slow down your computer unless you're eating 
up the last minimum required for correct functioning.

AFAIK, 1 GB of empty space is enough to ensure correct functioning of XP 
and of CD burning. How much free space do you have now, and do you 
remember how much you had before compressing files?
