The camera is a Sony Digital Handicam model DCR-TRV110E with a fire wire
interface.
The fire wire card is a Dolphin FireWire Ultra Power Series and it came with
2 CD's, one is the Dolphin driver cd and it includes NetObjects Fusion 4.0,
the other one is VideoWave3 SE from mgisoft.com.

The card installed no problem and looks like it is working fine (in device
manager), the videowave software also installed no problem.

When I plugged the camera in, it was "plug and played" but there were quite
a few files that could not be found on the win98 cd (according to the
installer) but these files are already in windows\system and windows\sytem32
so I don't know what is going on there.  Anyway, when I run videowave it
opens with a few buttons active and when I click the CAPTURE button it says
there is no capture device so I then click on the button that allows me to
select the capture device and there are only 2 in the list - one is my sound
card and the other is a Microsoft DV camera.  I suppose this is the Sony
that was detected and installed!  Anyway again, when I select the camera,
videowave causes an invalid page fault and you already know the rest of that
story!

I can't find ANY fire wire drivers for Sony - only usb and I guess they are
different!

It doesn't appear as a windows device but maybe it should if I had the right
drivers??
