[pchelpers] Re: out of memory messages in Win98

Windows 98 has a bug that shows up if you have more than 512MB of ram. It
assigns itself all the available memory addresses and you get out of memory
errors no matter how much ram is on your machine. If you limit it to 512MB
or less to use for itself this fixes the problem. You must add the line:
MaxFileCache=N  to your system.ini file in the "vcache" section. "N" = the
number of MB you want to permit windows to use for itself times 1024(
expressed in kilobytes). If this doesn't help maybe Windows Knowledgebase
will give you clues as to what else might be causing the problem.

I've got in downloaded to my desktop, but my computer tells me that I do not
have enough memory to run that program.  Tells me to quite some programs and
try again.....which I did.  Rebooted. Same message. Hardly anything
running.....still the same message.  I have Windows 98.
