[pchelpers] Re: office 2000 help

Betty,

When you were installing the program and then the SP1 and SP2, did you have
your virus protection software running? Many times this will cause the
installation to be faulty and cause different things to happen. I would
suggest shutting down your computer and then restart it with a new boot. Now
after booting, shut down your virus protection software and uninstall the
Office program. After uninstalling and checking to make sure your Registry
is cleaned out as well from the uninstall, run your virus protection
software to make sure you don't have a virus. After this has been
accomplished, reboot your machine and turn off your virus protection
software and reinstall the Office program. Now, try the program and see if
it will run OK. If it does then only install the SP1 and again try your
software. If it is still running OK then go ahead and install SP2 and
re-check your program. If at any time in the installation process the
program starts to act up, then maybe your SP1 or SP2 downloads are corrupted
and you would have to delete them and re-download either SP1 or SP2. Give it
a try and let us know. Remember never to install any program with your
anti-virus program running.
