If you have a lithium-ion polymer battery (probably), it will prefer
to be kept fully charged.  Draining it is not good.  A relatively new
laptop will probably shut down before the battery is drained too low
to recharge.

Dunno, but that's what I would do if it were my laptop; I don't like
having to wait for a computer to start up, and to re-open all of my
applications.
