[pchelpers] Re: no sound at all

Well, here is the latest. I'm sorry, I wasnt able to go check what it says for
you. We had company and family tonight and now all are in bed and I can't get
to it.

We did open the computer.
I saw a modem. Where on the outside/back of the pc it has the jack location to
plug in the speakers... there is nothing much on the inside of the pc except a
small silver square or rectangle box. I don't know what that was. Could that
be anything to do with sound?

Windows doesn't even make a sound when it reboots. No sound when it is dialing
the dialup network. I mean NO sound.

Is it hard to put in sound? Is it something my husband and I could do I
wonder. We have a few hours tomorrow before our flight so I was just wondering
how complicated that would be. (I have installed a modem and a floppy drive
before myself.)

I had checked all the advanced settings and as far as I could tell that was
not the problem.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
