Heres the problem.
I have computer A named "Elaine" and computer B named "gene"
Both runs Window ME
Computer B runs a Billing and Accounts program and Computer A has the
Data folder.(Choice)
Computer B has Computer A c drive mapped as "C on "Elaine" (K:)
It has been running like this for 6 years now with no problems.
Now Computer B Billing and Accounts programs can no longer access
Computer A's Data Folder.
Windows ME has no problem moving or seeing files or folders between the
two computers.
It is the Billing and Accounts programs that can't access the files.
These two programs are DOS programs. For some reason he loves these two
programs and won't switch
to anything newer.
One program is called "First Choice"
I go into the program and set up the "default Data folder" k:\Choice.
Then I go to the menu and pick "Get File"
The k:\Choice folder comes up and I can see all the files in the folder.
But when I pick the file that I want it to get I get the error message
"File access error"
I'm wondering if something is wrong on the DOS network side, but the
Windows side of the network works.
But that doesn't explains why I can see the files but not access them.
Computer A has all the sharing and permissions set. Like I said it has
been working with this setup for 6 years now.
Anyone have any clues?

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
