You lost me on this one Louis. You can buy a NIC for a lot less than a router, and in fact you will need one for the win95 machine anyway to use it on the router. With the NIC in the 95 machine you can use a crossover cable to the XP machine and use Connection Sharing, thus having access to the internet on both machines through your regular IP, ability to share files across the network between machines and all you have is the cost of the NIC and cable both of which you have to buy or at least need, anyway PLUS the cost of the Router if you go the other way. XP has a built in firewall so you don't need the Router for that. What did I miss? Why do you need the Router?
