[pchelpers] Re: my password problem

Click on your printer icon in settings that you are using- sharing or
properties-- look below this is what it says If this printer is shared with
users using different versions of windows then you need to install
additional drivers for it. Check it out-- I hope this helps-- Jackie

Subject: [pchelpers] my password problem

this is making me crazy! I am missing some little something.

i have my win XP computer networked "pier to pier" with my daughter's Win 98
computer. From my XP computer i can access all the shared files on her
win98 computer.

(Here's the problem): When my daughter tries to access my XP computer from
her sin98 computer a box pops up asking for a password. NONE of the
passwords that we are using on either comuter work.
(she IS logging onto the win 98 computer at start up).

aside:
Funny thing: Win XP Wizard set up a "remote gateway" so my daughter can
use the modem and dialup internet connection in my computer. This works
just fine. When she clicks on I.E it automaticly connects her to the
internet through my modem. When she finishes there is a little "double
computer monitor" icon beside the clock that she clicks then chooses
"disconnect".

When she trys to print, the same "password box" pops up and will not accept
any password. I have the same users with the same passwords listed on both
computers. I have lots of files shared on the XP computer for her to see

I have tried everything i can think of.

any suggestions? Please!

thanks,
J. Setcer
