[pchelpers] music edit

anyone know of a good music edit tool, I want to take small portion of 
favourite MP3 tracks I have to transfer to my cell phone as ring tones. so I 
want to be able to cut the first 30 seconds of a piece of music.   I have 
audacity, but can't see if this will do it............oh and it has to be free
