I have a Logitech cordless optical scroll mouse; I had to install the
driver in order for it to work. Windows did detect it, though, and
popped up the dialog for installing a new driver. If the mouse didn't
work immediately, and you didn't get the install-dialog thing, then
perhaps there's something wrong with the mouse.
