[pchelpers] Re: modems/sound

I have had success "flying by the seat of my pants" with both modems and
sound cards.

The most common thing that works for me with modems is to choose from the
list: " generic 56K modem" (if it is a 56K modem. If it is not trash it.)
The second most successful thing with modems is to choose a "Rockwell 56K
modem" from the list.

For sound cards I have the most success choosing: "sound blaster 16" from
the list of sound cards that windows offers.

"Poor people have to resort to poor people ways".
"A miser is someone who lives poor so he can die rich".

With new sound cards and new modems being as cheap as $15 each, driver
included, you can't spend much time searching for drivers for old boards.
