When I asked about the mail folder, no, I didn't have the other emails
you had sent.
I do now.
So I have to direct outlook to my Profile in thunderbird, is that what
you are telling me.
The page you sent gave this path:
C:\Documents and Settings\<Windows login/user name>\Application
Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\<Profile name>\
%APPDATA%\Thunderbird\Profiles\<Profile name>\
Well, I don't have %APPDATA% in my path.
When I try to import the mail settings, I get error messages trying to
follow that path but having to make some adjustments as it is not the same.
AFter I click on profile name, my choices are: calendar, chrome,
extensions, mail
If I click on mail, it has 4 things under there, my accounts, 2 with
gmail, one with cox, and local folders
If I just click on the word mail, I get the error, unable to open the
address file.
When I click ok on that, I get the mail folder path could not be found.
If I do it again, and click on mail, then on local folders <which shows
all my folders in Thunderbird email>.... and then click ok, it gives the
same errors.
It sure is a pain to import mail from thunderbird! Not easy at all.

(Btw, as I said recently, I compact folders regularly.) But I don't
regularly backup email and bookmarks.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
