[pchelpers] Re: let's change the subject

I have seen this before while editing text in email. If our experience
is similar, that last key stroke deletes a carriage return, which puts
the cursor on the previous line. So the character is either deleted on
the next key stroke, or you have a slightly different case (deleting
from an html message).

In that case you might back space from the bottom line to the last
character on the next line up simply because their are no intervening
characters. Whatever happens, it is easy to correct by manually typing
in what was removed.

The behaviour of the cursor in these instances is controlled by the
editing software in your email program (whatever its rules are). In the
case you provided, the carriage return is the only character separating
those lines. While editing, it means you need to add a space in its
place to restore it to readable text.
