Someone suggested downloading the Java Web Start program because I was having
java errors and so forth.
Well, I did... but now I don't know, do I have to 'do anything'? When I open
it all I see are some samples. Is it 'on' automatically and correcting stuff
since I have it installed? I'm still getting java errors in IE 6.
For example, I wanted to get this lovely picture on my pc.

I get 'error on page' and it won't let me download it.
So, I asked someone to see if they could download it, and yep, worked fine for
them. I don't know what to do to change things.
I've asked about settings but no one said anything that made the problem go
away. I have it set to enable java in my browser.
I don't know what to do though to make the problem get better.
It's not just this one page, it happens all the time now. I even upgraded to
IE6 thinking that would make it better. It didn't. I got rid of HotBar. It
didn't make it better. I still get that 'beep' noise all the time that
something has an error.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
