[pchelpers] is this a drive going down

Hello all, for some time now my PC on bootup, gives out one of the following 
messages.
Error....OS failed to load and Bootdisc failure etc.....

I hit the reset button and in both cases, the PC then boots and loads 
correctly.  On the very odd occasion, it gets to the post screen and then 
switches off. though there is power to the MB as the LED is lit.  I unplug 
powercord completely for 30 secs or so, plug back in and hit start button and 
this then boots as normal.

Is it a HDD going down? or possibly 2 faults (coincidence)
